AARPO Serves Factum

TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA - April 19, 2023

This week, the Association of Aggrieved Regulated Professionals of Ontario (AARPO) served its factum on all parties and interveners. A factum is a statement of legal arguments, including legal and statutory authorities (cases and laws). The respondent (the College of Psychologists of Ontario) and interveners whose position is more aligned with the respondent, can file their factums in the coming weeks.

A hearing of this matter has been set for the third week of June 2023. AARPO will participate in that hearing.

AARPO’s participation in these very important matters has relied on volunteers to date. The respondent College is a well-funded quasi-governmental agency. They have the funds and time to mount a strong fight to silence Dr. Peterson, and silence all regulated professionals in Ontario. This case stands for the proposition that professional regulators cannot regulate the private lives, including opinions and beliefs, of their members/registrants. Everyone will be affected by the outcome (professionals, patients, clients, and the people of Ontario).
